2010 Events

Pikes Peak Raptors Logo Design Contest

What The Pikes Peak Section is known as the Raptors.  We have a song and yell now that has been used the past three District Camps.  We now want to develop a logo to fit our name.  Therefore, we are requesting our Pikes Peak Rangers to use their talents and come up with an award winning design.  We need something that will work as typical the shirt front pocket type size and that can be fairly easy to have silk screened onto shirts.  We also need ideas for the back of our section shirts - across the shoulders where you'd see names on football jerseys or maybe a little larger.
Who Royal Ranger - Especially boys but we might let leaders submit as well (smile)
When All entries must be submitted to Steve Johnson (sjohnson@outpost200.org or 719-495-0597) by 31 Mar 2010.  The best way is probably to scan them in and e-mail them to Steve (with the right contact info).
Prize The winning submission will receive a $40 credit toward District Camp.

July 29 - August 1, 2010 :: District Campout

Who Pikes Peak Section Rangers
Entryway Last year we had a great entryway.  We're planning on doing the same this year.  The overall plan is here.  Each outpost that's coming to District Campout needs to bring their part.  That part consists of:
  • One 4ft x 4ft piece of 3/4 inch plywood painted the appropriate color
    • Coordinate with Steve Johnson (sjohnson@outpost200.org or 719-495-0597) on colors
    • With things (use your imagination here) attached to portray the camp theme of "Heroes" (from Eph 6:10)
  • 50 ft of matching 1/4 inch rope
  • A piece of matching painted plywood approximately 16in x 16in that points the viewer to the biblical way of thinking about Heroes.  That could be a scripture verse or two with an appropriate background - again, use your imagination.
Shirts We are considering having shirts made for our section this year.  Please submit a logo design and we'll see what we can do.

August 2010 :: DTC/ATC

Who Discovery Rangers and Adventure Rangers ready to improve themselves
What We will be conducting a combined Discovery Training Camp (DTC) and Adventure Training Camp (ATC).  This will most likely be a Friday evening and then all day Saturday event.  Details are still being worked.
